SAMHSA has recently released a new resource, Suicide Prevention Strategies for Underserved Youth, that provides insights on insights into evidence-based practices to support and help prevent suicide among this population. Suicide is one of the leading causes of death for youths ages 10-24, especially in underserved populations, including American Indian/Alaska Native, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, and the LGBTQI+ community.

This guide offers evidence-based strategies to prevent suicide among at-risk youth, focusing on underserved communities. It also explores the latest research, barriers to accessing services, and guidance on selecting, implementing, and evaluating effective prevention programs while highlighting successful initiatives addressing youth suicide. In addition, the report highlights examples of effective interventions and programs from across the country.
